I went to see Erin because I have been searching all around Seattle for someone who could understand what I wanted... and actually make it happen from color (going completely blonde from being a pretty dark brunette) and to cut (transforming a bad very uncool haircut to the exact style that fits me perfectly.) I get so many complements and I am in love with my hair. Erin is awesome! She is super sweet and really really talented. She really listenes to what you want and she really puts a cool style into it. I checked out Rivendell for the first time. I've had a bob for too many years, and wanted to do something crazy. I showed up with a picture of a multi-colored mohawk that I thought I might try out. Erik took the look even further and made it so ME. I'm sportin' the raddest cut I've ever seen - who's ever head of an asymmetrical mohawk?? - with pink, orange and red highlights amidst my natural dark brown. I'm telling you, shaving off half your hair is LIBERATING!! This is a bold and wild 'do' that I could have never envisioned myself. I LOVE IT!!! Erik meticulously sculpted this cut and color that yielded compliments within an hour of leaving the salon! Unique, original, and downright daring - if that's the kind of look you'd like, Erik can hook you up. Oh, and the rates for services are SUPER reasonable. Hip hair out in the middle of the boonies, whoodda thunk?! Kelsi is super gentle (I'm tender-headed) and super detailed (takes her time and is not messy). She does kick ass color, has a funky flair (I said flair) and her prices are very affordable (I tell her she needs to charge more!). The salon is located upstairs from a vegetarian cafe/restaurant/bar that serves up really good coffee and veggie foods. Go get your hair did! (From Yelp!)

My friend had come to Kelsi and just RAVED about how much she loved her hair. I decided I was sick of my hair, and I get the same result every time I go. I went to see Erin at the Rivendell Salon looking for a new look but not really knowing what I wanted. She took a lot of time assessing my hair and discussing what kind of look would be most flattering for me. I have never had such an extensive and thorough haircut anywhere. The dry cutting technique is unique and really allows you to see what your haircut will look like when you get home. (from Citysearch)

I had been looking for a stylist for over a year then... I met Kelsi. She saved my hair. I had a home dye job fiasco and she fixed it. She had also given me the best haircut I had ever had. I had taken in a picture and she cloned it, on my head! 5 stars, A+, hardcore! (from Google)

I was looking for a new stylist and saw an ad on craigslist for this salon. I checked out the MySpace link at myspace.com/rivendellhairsalon where I saw before & after pictures that confirmed this was where I wanted to get my hair done. The salon, as well as a tattoo/piercing shop, vegetarian cafe, dance studio, is inside a really cool old building. I enjoyed a great iced coffee and headed up to see Kelsi. She was receptive to what I wanted done with my hair and it came out better than I expected! The red she achieved was vibrant and has lasted a long time. She thinned out my hair (I have super thick hair) adding some great layers that really help take some of the weight out, and I am looking forward to going back to see her. A couple hints: the coffee served at the cafe is some of the best I have ever had; in fact I had to buy a bag of beans before I left. I also ate at the cafe, had the artichoke dip with warm pita bread, which I highly recommend, and vegetarian tacos which included delicious homemade avocado and tomato salsa. Cannot wait to try other dishes next time I am there! Bring a friend, you can play chess and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. Five stars for this excellent find! (from Google)

It's nice to have a salon close to home that has a young and fresh vibe. I've gotten styled a few times and gotten one cut, and I've always been impressed by Kelsi and Erin's hair art. The cut I got was just what I needed and is growing out great. Yay for cute hair! (from Google)
Jul 28, 2008 - Sabrina Macready - Kelsi did my hair @ Rivendell Salon, I have never had a better haircut! I had a picture of a cut/style I had wanted and she did it! It looks amazing and the salon was very clean and everyone was friendly. I would recommend them to ANYONE. The prices are fair, the people we fun, and the results are amazing!
